DiBcom, based in Palaiseau near Paris, was founded in June 2000. It specialises in hardware such as chipsets for the reception of digital TV in portable and mobile applications. DiBcom was the first company to target mobile-TV receivers using broadcasting technology and introduced the first mobile DVB-T receiver in 2002. In the past few months, the company has widened its range of products and has begun providing an integrated product which includes an RF tuner. The financing round will create new offerings, either internally, or via acquisitions or partnerships. The company will also use this latest investment to expand its international offices and well as R&D. The firm’s turnover, which stood at about €8m in 2004, hit €21.6m in 2006. DiBcom employs around 130 staff.
