THL buys Sword Insurance unit
Thomas H Lee Partners has agreed to acquire the insurance unit of Paris-based Sword Group in a deal thought to be worth around $150m.
The NYSE Euronext listed firm will sell the whole of its Sword Insurance unit, which provides software and services for property and casualty insurers, to the US-based private equity firm.
Reports suggest the investor plans to grow the unit into one of the top providers in its sector.
Company
Sword Insurance provides insurance software and services and owns London market supplier Intech and Boston-based AgencyPort. The firm is expected to rebrand following the completion of the transaction.
