BPI France et al. inject €4.6m into Tommy's Diner
French investors BPI France, Midi Capital and Multicroissance have invested €4.6m in American-style restaurant chain Tommy's Diner.
Tommy's will use the fresh capital to open 15 new restaurants by 2015. The backers are understood to have agreed to provide a further €1.6m within the next two years.
Company
Established in 1993 by former professional rugby player Patrick Soula, Tommy's Diner operates a chain of restaurants modelled after 1950s and 1960s US diners. The chain was originally focused on the south of France but expanded across the country in recent years. It now operates seven restaurants, usually located in commercial or leisure centres outside of French cities.
The Toulouse-based company generates revenues of €11m and employs 200 people.
