Paca et al. inject €600,000 into Therapixel
Paca Investissement, Var Business Angels, Créazur and CPG have joined existing backer IT Translation during a €600,000 investment in French healthcare software developer Therapixel.
The round was led by Paca Investissement, a fund set up by the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region and managed by French VC Turenne Capital Partenaires. The vehicle's contribution remains confidential, but it most commonly invests upwards of €150,000.
The capital will assist Therapixel as it seeks to reinforce the commercial deployment of its core product Fluid abroad.
The investment takes place less than a year after Therapixel secured €300,000 from IT Translation, an investment scheme for the digital and scientific research segments created by state-backed BPI France and Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique (INRIA).
Company
Therapixel was created as an INRIA spin-off in May 2013 and operates out of headquarters in Nice. The company's flagship suite, Fluid, allows surgeons to hand-navigate a visual reconstruction of the body of the surgery patient without having to remove their gloves.
People
PACA Investissement's work on the deal was led by Marie Desportes and Aurélie Viaux, respectively associate director and senior project manager at Turenne Capital. Créazur was represented by Jean-François Richardoz, as were CPG by Olivier Marrot and Var Business Angels by Alexandre Lorenzi. Olivier Clatz et Pierre Fillard founded Therapixel, the former being its current CEO.
