
Omnes et al. invest €8m in Gecko Biomedical
Omnes Capital, CM-CIC Capital Finance and CapDecisif Management have backed an €8m series-A round for Paris-based medical devices company Gecko Biomedical.
Omnes and CM-CIC co-led the round.
Gecko will use the fresh funding to accelerate its development to industrialisation, as well as further develop its products for minimally invasive surgery. The company also plans to obtain CE marking for its adhesive liquid film product, designed for use in vascular reconstruction.
Company
Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Paris, Gecko develops biodegradable tissue adhesives and sealants for wound closure during surgery, with a particular focus on minimally invasive surgery – also known as keyhole surgery.
Gecko's products are designed to bind to tissues during surgical procedures despite the presence of fluids such as blood.

Christophe Bancel is the founder and CEO of Gecko. CapDecisif investment director Catherine Boule, Omnes life sciences partner Alexia Perouse and CM-CIC venture capital head Karine Lignel sit on the company's board of directors.
