Alven injects €3m into Bime
French VC Alven Capital has invested €3m in business intelligence software Bime.
Alven stated it was attracted by the fact that Bime's software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions target both small and larger businesses, while powerful business intelligence software is usually only accessible to large corporate groups.
Bime will use the fresh funding to expand the business, notably by hiring extra staff in both its European and US offices – the latter opened recently in Kansas City and so far counts seven team members.
Alven closed its latest fund on its €120m hard-cap in March this year, after nine months on the road. The VC usually invests €1-5m in French start-ups, focusing exclusively on the internet sector.
Company
Established in 2009, Bime (formerly We Are Cloud) develops SaaS business intelligence solutions. These allow users to view, aggregate and analyse data regardless of its location, whether it is stocked internally or on the cloud. The solutions are available on desktop computers but also mobiles and tablets.
People
Jeremy Uzan led the deal for Alven. Rachel Delacour is CEO and co-founder of Bime.
