OpenPortal Software (France) - Dec 2007

Investing on behalf of government initiative France Investissement, CDC Entreprises has led a second round of funding for Angers-based OpenPortal Software, a data management software publisher. Existing investors Ouest Ventures and Pays de la Loire Développement (PLD) invited CDC to participate in this €2.42m round of financing. CDC took 23.36% of the company’s equity, while management retained a 37% interest post-deal.

Company

Founded in 1995, OpenPortal Software develops information management systems specialising in human resource training management. The company has been granted three grants by OSEO/Anvar, and has been labelled a fast-growing ‘gazelle’ by the French Government, with a turnover increase of 47% and 50% in 2006 and 2007, respectively. The business, which invests 20% of its revenues in R&D and is considered a ‘gold partner’ by Microsoft, intends to expand internationally thanks to further partnerships with European integrators.

People

Christian Leonetti represented CDC Entreprises, while Eric Cozanet and Valérie Allain-Dupré worked for Ouest Ventures and PLD, respectively. Gilles Guerrin is the CEO of OpenPortal Software.
