Seventure loses out on So Factory
So Factory, a French e-commerce company backed by Seventure Partners, has seen its assets acquired by competitor Shopinvest following an administration process.
Seventure acquired a minority stake in So Factory in exchange for a €4m equity investment in 2011. Despite plans to increase marketing efforts and develop the range of products offered, the business went into administration at the start of January this year.
The group's assets – including its website and three bricks-and-mortar stores – have now been acquired by Shopinvest, an e-commerce business that was founded in 2011. Shopinvest expects the acquisition to help it double its turnover for 2015 to €25m.
Company
Founded in 2007, So Factory is an e-commerce company that offers a selection of modern furniture online at factory prices. The company is based in Athis-Mons, France.
