Asmodée Group (France) - Jan 2008

Montefiore Investment becomes majority shareholder in Asmodée Group with 60% in a deal worth between €40-50m which sees Naxicap Partners exit its 20% share of the company. The management retains a 40% share. The deal was financed by about 50:50 equity to debt ratio with the debt being provided HSBC, Le Crédit Lyonnais and Banque Populaire Rives de Paris.

Company

The deal was the first investment by Montefiore Investment’s new fund Montefiore Investment II. Asmodée specialises in collectable card games and recorded a turnover of €28m between 2006/07. Asmodée is based in Voisin les Bretonneux. It was created in 1995 by Marc Nunes and currently employs around 40 people.

Eric Bismuth and Daniel Elalouf worked on the deal as president of Montefiore Investment, while Frederic Wargnies worked on behalf of vendor Naxicap Partners. Marc Nunes is president of the Asmodée Group.
