Twenga, the Paris-based consumer search engine provides an independent internet product search engine which is not influenced by other companies. Twenga uses crawl technology to trawl impartially through all products and retailers on the internet ordering them by relevance. It was founded in 2006 by Bastien Duclaux and Cedric Anes. It relies solely on advertisements and sponsored links. Twenga currently employs about 50 people.

Bastien Duclaux is founder and CEO of Twenga. Jean-Noel Lebrun is president. Jean-David Chamboredon, Marc Oiknine and Daniel Waterhouse worked on the deal on behalf of 3i.
