Protein’eXpert is a recombinant proteins engineering firm. Grenoble-based Protein’eXpert was founded in 2000 by Tristan Rouselle and Nicolas Mouz. The company specialises in providing tailor-made target and therapeutic recombinant protein services. Protein’eXpert combines advanced molecular engineering with low-to-high throughput manufacturing technologies to discover, optimise, produce and deliver R&D-compatible volumes of soluble proteins from genomic sequences. Since 2003 Protein’eXpert has increased its bio-production of therapeutic proteins via internal subsidiary PX’Pharma. The company counts a number of organisations and institutions among its partners, including the European Synchrotron Research Facility, the Institute of Structural Biology and the Research Group on Inflammatory Processes. Its trading partners include Eurogentec SA, Biomethodes, iDealp’pharma and Avidis SA. Protein’eXpert’s customers include Sanofi Synthelabo, Biomérieux and Galderma R&D. In July 2007 Protein’eXpert created PX’Monoclonals,a new subsidiary based in Lyon which focuses on the development of antibodies. The firm employs 45 people and achieved turnover of €3.3m in 2007.
