Regulatory fears weigh on Nordic market
Increased regulation will have a negative impact on private equity activity in the Nordic market, according to data from unquoteт Research and Delphi.
A survey of active players in the Nordic private equity market, including GPs, LPs and corporate financiers, revealed regulation is by far the biggest concern in the industry.
Almost two thirds of those surveyed felt regulatory restraints were the biggest issue currently facing the Nordic private equity business, while fund raising was said to the biggest issue for 26%.
Furthermore, three quarters of respondents believe regulations such as the AIFMD and tax initiatives, will have a negative impact on deal activity over the next three years.
