New Danish taxation rules
It is expected that a new ruling from the Danish Tax Authorities (Ligningsrådet) will increase foreign investors’ appetite for investing in Danish companies through Danish venture funds. Ligningsrådet has confirmed that profits made in Denmark by foreign investors are not to be taxed when invested in Danish companies through a venture fund domiciled in Denmark. The new ruling was aimed directly on the investments in a new biotech fund, Nordic Biotech, which wanted very clear indications of the taxation for an American investor, which has subsequently injected approximately Euro 15m into the fund.
