
Leading Northern European law firms merge
Magnusson Wahlin Qvist Stanbrook (MAQS) has merged with Bergling & Partners, a reputable law office in Stockholm. The merger is part of the strategic development of MAQS' positioning in Stockholm, the largest business and financial centre in Scandinavia. It is estimated that merger will stimulate growth of the Stockholm office by 20%. The merger, which took effect on 1 September 2004, follows a period of search and negotiations with potential merger candidate firms located in Stockholm. The extended firm will operate under the MAQS name. Two partners and four associates of Bergling & Partners have been instantly integrated with the MAQS' Stockholm office. Bergling & Partners' practice specialises in general business law, EC and competition law, intellectual property rights, litigation, mergers and acquisitions and venture capital.
