IFEX Group Investment Banking has signed a letter of intent with an option to acquire a significant stake in two Swedish medical technology companies: Ultrazonix DNT AB and Bone Support AB. Ultrazonix is a Malmö-based medical-technology that provides help for patients with spinal problems through the use of a new technique based upon high intensity focused ultrasound thereby avoiding major surgery. Bone Support is a Scandinavian biotech company focusing on the development of injectable bone materials, based on synthetically produced ceramics. Ultrazonix is a portfolio company of Scandinavian Life Science Ventures, the latter providing Skr20mk for a 40% stake in the company in late 2001.
