
Alfred Berg becomes ABN AMRO
The asset management division of Alfred Berg has changed its name to ABN AMRO Asset Management. ABN AMRO originally bought Alfred Berg in 1995.Hans Fahlin, managing director of Alfred Berg Asset Management, explained that the name change will underline that Alfred Berg is part of a global business. He said: 'Our clients needs are becoming more global, and we have noticed an increased request for international products and services.'The Stockholm-based investment bank was established in 1863, and acquired by Alfred Berg in 1901, who renamed it after himself. Alfred Berg Asset Management has offices in Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen and Helsinki, and employs 221 people. The well-known Nordic brand, Alfred Berg, will still be used for the rest of the business.
