Åkerströms is transforming one of its business divisions into a new company called Åkerströms Trux AB. The new company's operation concentrates on rugged forklift truck computers. Åkerströms Björbo AB will focus on industrial remote-control solutions for cranes, door-opening systems, and locomotives. For more than 40 years, Åkerströms in Björbo, Sweden has been developing remote control and wireless-communication solutions. During the past decade, the company consisted of two main divisions: industrial remote control and rugged forklift truck computers for wireless networks. Transformation of the two business divisions started 18 months ago. And now, by running them as two companies, Åkerströms will further increase its growth. The Trux Solutions business division, which serves the market for forklift truck computers that operate in warehouses and production plants, will become Åkerströms Trux AB. Both companies will continue to share a common platform that consists of the Åkerströms brand, development of wireless technologies. Åkerströms is 100% owned by Brainheart Capital
