Dania Capital established in Denmark
A new private equity company, Dania Capital, has been established in Denmark. As a sector-focused private equity fund Dania Capital will invest primarily in small & medium sized Danish companies in the construction and building industry. Dania Capital is the brainchild of the Danish charitable fund Fonden Realdania, which has provided a cornerstone investment of Dkr 600m ("80m) in the fund. The management team, which comprises four partners, has also invested in the company, and Dania Capital has the option of raising additional capital from other investors. Dania Capital's strategy is to acquire a controlling stake in portfolio companies and to invest in close co-operation with the management and eventually other investors. Dania Capital will not invest directly in real estate. Dania Capital will typically focus on companies with an annual turnover in the range of Dkr 100-500m ("13-70m) and expects an ownership period of three to seven years for each portfolio company. During this period Dania Capital will work actively with the company both on operational and strategic policies, including the purchase and/or sale of company divisions to improve the company profile.
