EQT's von Koch steps down as CEO

EQT Partners managing partner and CEO Thomas von Koch will be replaced by deputy managing partner and head of EQT's equity division Christian Sinding as of January 2019.
From January, von Koch will become deputy managing partner and chairman of EQT Ventures, EQT Mid Market Asia and EQT Public Value.
The changes end a period of five years as CEO for von Koch, during which EQT has more than doubled in size. He was part of the initial EQT team in 1994 and had worked at Swedish LP Investor AB prior to joining.
Sinding has worked at EQT for 20 years, most recently as head of the Equity business. Prior to EQT, he worked at US-based PE firm AEA Investors.
EQT closed its latest buyout fund EQT VIII on its €10.75bn hard-cap in February this year. The firm is currently considering expansion plans including an IPO or partial sale next year, according to press reports.
