EQT announces eight new partners
EQT Partners has announced eight new partners, including six internal promotions from director level and two new hires in the EQT Ventures team.
Carl Johan Renström, Matthias Wittowski and Magnus Tornling have been promoted to partner in the private equity teams in Stockholm, Oslo and Munich respectively. EQT also promoted Victor Englesson in the mid-market team in Stockholm.
EQT Ventures has hired Lyle Fong (formerly of Y Combinator) and Johan Svanström (formerly of Expedia Group). Both will be based in London.
Meanwhile, the GP made promotions in Singapore and New York in the mid-market and credit teams, making Brian Chang and Stephen Escudier partners.
EQT announced in December that managing partner and CEO Thomas von Koch was stepping down after five years as CEO and being replaced by equities division head Christian Sinding.
EQT closed its latest buyout fund EQT VIII on its €10.75bn hard-cap in February last year. The firm was considering expansion plans including an IPO or partial sale in 2019, according to press reports at the end of 2018.
