Industrien Pension's Struve resigns for new venture
Danish LP Industriens Pension’s private investments director, Kasper Struve, is leaving the Danish pension fund to set up a new venture.
Struve announced on his LinkedIn profile he is leaving on 1 February to launch Unified Investors, which aims to help institutional investors build exposure to private markets.
Struve, who spent 11 years at Industriens Pension, said he is making the move because he wants to "experience life as an entrepreneur".
Struve joined Industriens Pension in 2007 to serve as private equity portfolio manager, before being promoted to director of private investments. Prior to that, he worked at KPMG in corporate finance.
Industriens Pension, the pension fund for the Confederation of Danish Industry and seven different unions, has invested 10.9% of its portfolio to private equity, as of November 2018. Recent commitments to private equity include Highland Europe Technology Growth III and Northedge Capital SME Fund I. Private equity was the best performing asset class for Industriens Pension during the first half of 2018, generating a 6.1% return.
The pension fund has not yet found a replacement for Struve.
