Ex-AP6 exec Erik Nobel launches LLCP Stockholm office
Private equity firm Levine Leichtman Capital Partners (LLCP) has opened a new office in Sweden, led by former AP6 investment director Erik Nobel.
Nobel joins as managing director, and his responsibilities include leading the firm’s structured equity origination and investing efforts in the Nordic region. He will direct the sourcing of investment opportunities, participate in due diligence, and work with the local management teams post-transaction.
Nobel is also in charge of establishing and managing the newly established office in Stockholm. His appointment comes as LLCP continues to expand its platform.
This is the first Scandinavian office of the $10.2bn investment firm, adding to London and the Hague as the firm’s European bases.
LLCP has recently bought SK AeroSafety, the aviation division of Netherlands-based safety equipment specialist SK FireSafety, from Paris-based Apax Partners. SK AeroSafety's management team, headed by CEO Chris Wright, will invest alongside LLCP.
Nobel joins from state-owned pension fund AP6, where he served as investment director. His responsibilities at AP6 focused on co-sponsored and co-investment transactions, including origination, evaluation and lead generation of direct investment opportunities throughout the Nordic region.
AP6 isn’t searching for a replacement for Erik Nobel’s role at the moment, according to a spokesperson. However, the pension scheme has appointed Anna Grgic as a direct investment analyst.
