SEB Investment Management appoints new CEO
SEB Investment Management, the SEK 1.6bn fund manager, has announced the appointment of Javiera Ragnartz to serve as CEO and head of the investment management division.
Ragnartz replaces Peter Branner, who has joined APG Asset Management as chief investment officer effective from September 2018. Hans Ek is currently serving as SEB Investment Management’s interim CEO, and Ragnartz will join this summer.
Ragnartz will report both to president Johan Torgeby for her role as divisional head, and to the board of SEB Investment Management for her role as CEO.
Ragnartz joins from pension company AMF, where she worked as head of asset management.
A spokesperson for AMF told Unquote that Ragnartz will remain at AMF for some time to secure an orderly handover of her responsibilities, but the firm will initiate the process of finding her replacement directly.
SEB had invested 7% of its portfolio in alternatives as of December 2018. SEB Life & Pension recently committed DKK $200m to Danish SDG Investment Fund. The fund aims to contribute to the realisation of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, and it held a final close on DKK 4.85bn. SEB Life & Pension was the only Swedish investor in the fund.
