IK launches Copenhagen office
Pan-European PE firm IK Investment Partners has announced the opening of a new office in Copenhagen.
The office will be led by partner Thomas Klitbo, who has been with IK since 2007. The six investment professionals in the existing Danish and Norwegian mid-cap team will join him, as well as a local extension of the small-cap team.
IK has its roots in the Nordic region but has been headquartered in London since the earlier 1990s. The firm said that the move was part of its ongoing commitment to investing in the Nordic region.
IK is organised into regional teams focused on investments in the Benelux, DACH, France and Nordic regions. These teams operate from local offices in Amsterdam, Hamburg, Paris, Stockholm and now Copenhagen.
The GP closed its second small-cap fund, IK Small Cap II, on €550m in February last year. It is also investing its mid-market fund IK VIII, which closed on €1.85bn at the end of 2016 and was 61% deployed by September 2018.
