Triton submits bid for Thomas Cook's Nordic business
Triton Partners has submitted a preliminary and unsolicited indicative offer for the northern European business of Thomas Cook Group, according to a statement from the firm.
The group is currently evaluating the offer for its tour operations and airline in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark as part of its strategic review.
It said it has received multiple bids, including bids for the whole airline business, and will consider all approaches.
The division generated EBIT of £95m from revenues of £1.3bn in 2018. Thomas Cook Group is listed on the London Stock Exchange and generated sales of £9.6bn in total.
Thomas Cook announced losses of £1.5bn in the first half of this year, issuing a profit warning and citing Brexit uncertainty as a key driver of the underperformance.
Triton is currently deploying capital from its €5bn buyout fund, Triton Fund V, which held a final close in January this year.
