Swedish pension fund AP6 makes Staaf managing director
Sixth Swedish National Pension Fund (AP6) has appointed Katarina Staaf to serve as managing director, effective from September.
Staaf joined the SEK 34.7bn pension fund as a member of the board in 2017; however, she will leave this assignment due to her new role.
Staaf has previously worked for Skandia Liv, Evli Funds and Riksbyggen, among others. She is replacing the previous managing director, Karl Swartling, who left earlier this year.
The Swedish LP focuses on unlisted assets, including both direct and fund investments. It has made 10 new direct investments during 2018, eight of them co-investments made together with funds that the pension fund has previously invested in.
AP6's recent fund commitments include Hg Saturn and Bridgepoint Europe VI.
