Unigestion opens Copenhagen office
Asset manager Unigestion has announced the opening of a new office in Denmark, in a bid to better serve investors across the Nordic region.
The Copenhagen-based office will help the $22.9bn asset manager to increase its investor base in the region, as well as to work closer with investors interested in unique investment strategies, including bespoke environmental, social and governance (ESG) solutions.
This is the first Scandinavian office for Unigestion. It will serve institutional investors and intermediaries in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland and the Netherlands.
Per Lawӕtz Hansen will0 lead the office. He joined Unigestion in 2018 as head of the Nordic countries. He previously worked for Nordea.
Unigestion is actively incorporating ESG criteria into its private equity strategy. It previously launched a dedicated evergreen private equity mandate, targeting investments in green economy sectors globally, through a proactive ESG process in 2014.
The Geneva-headquartered manager also launched a new direct investment vehicle recently, Unigestion Direct II, which held a first close in September 2019 on €300m. The North East Scotland Pension Fund is among the LPs that backed the fund.
