Verdane appoints sustainability expert Osmundsen as partner

Northern European private equity firm Verdane has appointed Erik Osmundsen as a partner in its Oslo office.
Osmundsen joins the GP after nine years as group CEO of Norsk Gjenvinning, a Scandinavian supplier of waste management and recycling services, where he oversaw the Nordic expansion of the company's sustainable recycling and waste treatment solutions.
Osmundsen will be responsible for strengthening Verdane's capabilities in sustainability. His appointment follows the recent hire of Axel Elmqvist as sustainability lead for Verdane Elevate, the firm's team of in-house operational experts, in March 2021.
The firm is currently investing from two funds across the Nordic region and Germany: Edda II, which it closed on its €540m hard-cap earlier this year; and its SEK 6bn Verdane Capital X fund.
The PE firm has 70 investment professionals and operating experts, based in Berlin, Copenhagen, Helsinki, London, Oslo and Stockholm.
