Polaris appoints director, head of sustainability

Danish investor Polaris Private Equity has hired Daniel Repfenning as director.
Based in Copenhagen, Repfennig joined Polaris in April from private equity firm Solix, where he was an investment director. Prior to that, he worked at Nordic investment firm Ratos after beginning his career as a consultant with Arthur D Little in Stockholm.
The GP has also promoted Martin Bang-Löwgren to the new role of head of sustainability. Bang-Löwgren joined Polaris's investment team in 2009. In his new role, he will coordinate the GP's sustainability efforts and will work closely with its investment teams, while also supporting portfolio companies.
At the same time, Polaris has promoted Thorsten Spurr Madsen to the position of director, Joachim Satchwel and Nicolai Vennekilde to the position of associate director, and Philip Dithmer and Gustav Brobert to the role of investment manager.
Polaris is currently deploying equity from Polaris Private Equity V, which launched in 2019. It recently launched a new DKK 1bn flexible capital strategy to back companies with equity and junior debt.
