EQT launches SEK 2.3bn tender offer for AcadeMedia
EQT has launched a tender offer of SEK 190 per share for Swedish education company AcadeMedia.
The bid represent a premium of 11.8% compared to the offer made by Providence Equity Partners, and more than 30% above the closing price on 30 March 2010, the day prior to the abnormal price movements.
Shareholders representing 31% of the total share capital have expressed that they will support EQT's bid over Providence's SEK 170 per share offer.
AcadeMedia has been listed on the OMX since 2001. It runs pre-schools, compulsory and upper-secondary schools as well as adult education in 150 locations. The schools have a total of 45,000 students and participants and employ 2,500.
The bid is made from EQT's fifth fund and structured through the holding company, Svensk Utbildning Interessenter.
