Nokia Growth Partners leads $8m round in Voddler
Nokia Growth Partners, the venture capital arm of Nokia, has led an $8m investment in Swedish video-on-demand service provider Voddler.
Voddler is headquartered in Stockholm and received a SEK 26m investment from Eqvitec in February 2010. The service is available in Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark and currently offers a premium and free advertising-funded videos.
Voddler's development is now focused on showing film on handheld devices, such as smart phones and tablets, as well as on Internet-connected TVs and set-top boxes.
