KKR invests in Ambea as co-lead with Triton
US-based KKR has joined Triton in its investment in Nordic healthcare specialist Ambea.
The investment is in the form of convertible preferred stock. Subject to certain regulatory approvals, KKR has the option to become a joint equity-lead investor on a 50/50 basis with Triton and in partnership with Ambea management.
Ambea employs approximately 10,300 people and has about 600 healthcare and care units. The company supplies around 12,000 people with care services, providing approximately two million physician visits per year throughout the Ambea Group. The group has annual sales of more than SEK 7bn.
Triton acquired Ambea in February this year in a deal that saw 3i divest its stake in the business and reap a 3.4x multiple on its investment.
