Faxander joins Nordic Capital as operating partner

Nordic Capital has appointed Olof Faxander as operating partner at NC Advisory, the adviser to the GP’s funds.
Faxander will head the operations team at NC Advisory alongside NC partner Lars Terney.
Prior to joining Nordic Capital, Faxander was the chief executive of Swedish engineering company Sandvik, until he was let go in August 2015.
Sandvik's dismissal of Faxander was the result of a broad scandal in the Swedish industrial world, in which it was revealed Swedish paper maker SCA's private jet had been used by company directors and their families.
He joined Sandvik from steel maker SSAB in 2011, where he was CEO from 2006 until 2011. Faxander's career within the steel industry stretches back further, having spent a stint as executive vice-president at Finnish stainless steel group Outokumpu.
