CapMan-backed Walki's factory sale falls through
Finnish GP CapMan’s deal to sell two factories owned by industrial packaging portfolio company Walki Group to Mondi Group has been scuppered due to EU competition concerns.
The deal, signed in May 2015, stipulated Mondi was to acquire two extrusion coating plants in Finland and Poland from Walki, which is backed by CapMan's Buyout VIII fund and its Mezzanine IV vehicle.
Following discussions with the European Commission regarding concerns about the state of competition in the industry, the two parties were unable to find a solution and the acquisition agreement was terminated by Mondi.
