Nordic unquote” out now

This month sees Nordic unquote” celebrate its 100th issue with a look back at the past 11 years of private equity activity covered since it launched in 1999.
As well as all the latest funds, deals and exits in the region over the past month, this issue has a special focus on the sale of portfolio companies. While many Nordic players had hoped 2010 would bring a much needed revival in exit market conditions, many went disappointed as public markets and trade buyers showed little appetite.
However, despite these difficulties the region did see a number of successful exits, including one huge IPO. Axcel sold Danish jewellery maker Pandora for a whopping DKK 27.33bn, showing public market investors are still willing to pay a premium for the most desirable assets. However, the mood was somewhat dampened by several failed IPO attempts, including those of EPiServer and Falck.
This issue will also look at growth in the consumer sector, paying down portfolio company debt and recruitment services.
