SITRA and Provider to launch cleantech fund
SITRA and Provider Venture Partners will together launch a EUR100-160m cleantech fund in a move to respond to climate change as well as rising energy and raw material prices. "Launching of the cleantech fund is one of the major results of Sitra's environmental programme and the Nordic coverage is a great opportunity," emphasised Esko Aho, president of SITRA. The two investors recognised that the total number of potential cleantech targets in the Nordic countries numbers more than 2,000.
SITRA and Provider's joint goal is to create a Nordic venture capital fund, initially based in Finland and Sweden, through which Sitra - together with other fund investors - will continue its investment activities in the cleantech sector.
