Altor receives SEK 500m tax bill
Partners at Altor will receive an additional tax bill of SEK 500m for the 2008 income year, according to local media reports.
Swedish tax authority Skatteverket is demanding SEK 306m from 11 current and previous Altor partners in extra tax. This adds to the tax authority demanding an extra SEK 153m from the firm earlier this year, a decision that Altor has appealed. Altor emphasised that it will also appeal this latest ruling.
Partners Harald Mix, Stefan Linder, Fredrik Stromholm and Johan Cervin will have to pay the bulk of the bill, with a joint additional tax of 271m. The remaining sum is shared by seven employees at the firm.
On 20 August, Skatteverket announced its decision to tax EQT with a SEK 670m tax bill. In EQT's case, the carried interest tax dispute involves 19 individuals.
Altor was not yet available for further comment.
