Grabau, Persson tipped as potential candidates for Kinnevik CEO role
Following the resignation of Kinnevik CEO Mia Brunell Livfors, the names of Lorenzo Grabau and Henrik Persson are circulating as potential candidates for the role.
Since Brunell announced her resignation on Wednesday, speculation has abounded in the Swedish press as to who will take over the role. One of the most likely candidates could be Grabau, who is on Kinnevik's board and owns a significant stake in the business. Grabau has previously worked for Goldman Sachs.
Another potential candidate is London-based Persson, responsible for new investments and a driver behind Kinnevik's growing holdings in internet companies. Kinnevik's power centre is said to have gravitated from the head office in Stockholm to London, where Kinnevik chairman Cristina Stenbeck is based, which indicates a London-based professional could replace Brunell.
Kinnevik has a strong focus on internet companies, in particular e-commerce, and has invested close to SEK 12m in the sector. Last year, portfolio company Zalando's share price rose by 120%, but fell in the past few days following reports that site traffic growth decreased in October and November. Goldman Sachs has valued Zalando at SEK 100bn.
