CVC's Backman named CEO of Finnish Industry Investment
Finlandтs government-owned investment company, Finnish Industry Investment, has appointed Martin Backman as president and CEO.
Most recently, Backman was managing director at CVC Capital Partners' Stockholm office and has previously worked at Advium Coprorate Finance, Industri Kapital (now IK Investment Partners) and Lexel Group.
Backman holds a master's degree in technology from Helsinki University of Technology and a master's in economics from the Swedish School of Economics in Helsinki.
Former CEO Juha Marjosola will remain at the company as a senior adviser until his planned retirement in September 2015.
Finnish Industry Investment provides venture capital and private equity investments in Finnish businesses, most recently taking part in an $8m funding round for waste management company Eveno.
