
Herkules acquires Norsk Jernbanedrift
Herkules has acquired a majority stake in Norsk Jernbarnedrift (NJD), a company that specialises in maintenance, construction and projects for railway infrastructure in Norway.
Equity for the transaction has been provided by Herkules Private Equity Fond III. The investor believes the sector NJD is active in is set to grow in the coming years as a result of increased maintenance investment, development and adoption of ERTMS, a new trans-national signalling system.
NJD was founded in 2005 and has since grown strongly. In 2010 the company generated a turnover of NOK 226m. The company is headquartered in Porsgrunn and has offices in five other locations.
