Karolinska appoints SEB Venture’s Drvota as CIO

Swedish life sciences VC Karolinska Development has appointed Viktor Drvota as chief investment officer, replacing deputy CEO Terje Kalland.
Drvota joins from SEB Venture Capital, where he had been head of life sciences since 2002 and a senior investment manager. He will replace Terje Kalland as chief investment officer from 31 December, when Kalland will retire from his position as CIO and deputy CEO.
Before joining SEB, Drvota was a cardiologist at Stockholm's Huddinge University Hospital for 11 years and has been an associate professor of cardiology at Karolinska Instituttet – the university where Karolinska Development is based – since 2002.
