Verdane Capital closes latest fund above target
Verdane Capital Advisors has closed its Verdane Capital VII secondaries fund above its SEK 1.5bn (€160m) target.
The direct secondaries vehicle will invest in portfolios of unlisted assets in the Nordic region. The fund has already invested in 35 companies through the acquisition of three portfolios: Spencer in Norway, Aggregate Media II in Sweden and Cumasa in Finland.
Seven new investors join 23 existing Verdane LPs. Investors from the Nordics region include AP3, Argentum, Finnish Industry Investment, KLP, Mandatum Life advised by Amanda Capital and RealDania. A quarter of the capital comes from outside the Nordic region, with commitments from European and US family offices as well as fund of funds.
Verdane Capital VII is significantly larger than its predecessor, which closed on SEK 1bn (€110m) in 2007.
