Pantheon wins €100m Finnish pension mandate
Pantheon has closed a private equity mandate to manage €100m in fund investments across emerging markets, on behalf of Finnish state pension fund Valtion Eläkerahasto (VER).
The €100m strategy will see the GP commit the capital to a diversified portfolio of primary private equity buyout and growth funds across Asia and emerging markets over the next three to four years.
VER launched a broad global public tender for the mandate – its first for emerging markets – in 2013, and the choice of Pantheon marks the pension fund's first foray into using a manager for a separate account.
The market value of VER's investment portfolio was €17.4bn at the end of September this year, with 1.4% allocated to private equity investments.
