
Polaris exits Connected Wind Services
Danish private equity firm Polaris Equity has exited wind turbine maintenance services provider Connected Wind Services (CWS) in a trade sale.
The acquirer is German energy provider Energie Baden-Württemberg (EnBW), which will purchase Polaris's majority stake in the Balle-based business.
EnBW hopes to integrate CWS into its group as part of an increased focus on renewable energy which has seen the energy provider build up a 336 mW offshore wind capacity that CWS will help maintain, in addition to offering its services to other offshore and onshore capacity installations.
Previous funding
Polaris acquired CWS in July 2012, through a management buy-in of what was then known as DMP Mølleservice. The deal saw the GP acquire a majority stake in CWS and instate Carlos Christensen as the new CEO.

Headquartered in Balle, CWS is a provider of maintenance services to onshore and offshore wind turbines.
The company was founded in 1987 and offers its services across the European wind turbine market, with operations in Germany and Sweden in addition to its Danish base.
