
Valedo takes majority stake in CMA, Markör merger
Sweden-based private equity firm Valedo Partners has backed the merger of Swedish business research companies CMA Research and Markör Marknad & Kommunikation through an MBO.
The deal sees the GP take a majority stake in the newly formed group through its 2011-vintage, SEK 2bn Valedo Partners Fund II.
Nordic bank Nordea provided financing for the deal.
Alongside Valedo, the former majority shareholders of Markör and CMA will re-invest in the new entity, as will management and key staff.
Company
CMA is a Linköping-based provider of business intelligence and corporate research. According to publicly available information, the company employed 46 people in 2015, generating SEK 42.4m of revenue and around SEK 3.8m of EBITDA.
Markör is headquartered in Stockholm and also provides internal business research services for management teams. The company employed 25 people in 2015, generating SEK 46m of turnover with EBTIDA of SEK 8.9m.
