
Intera in €35m carve-out of ISS security division
Finnish buyout firm Intera Partners has carved out the Finnish security activities of Danish facilities services business ISS in a €35m EV deal.
According to a statement by ISS, the transaction's enterprise value was DKK 261m (€35m) and sees Intera acquire the ISS subsidiary as part of a strategy by its former parent company to focus its service offering. Following the buyout, the new company will continue to provide security services to ISS Finland customers as a strategic partner.
The GP told unquote" it had tapped its Intera Fund III for the equity in the transaction.
Intera said it plans to develop ISS Security into a provider of both digital and physical security services.
The deal is expected to close by the end of 2016 and is the latest sale of a subsidiary by Copenhagen-listed ISS, which was owned by EQT and Goldman Sachs before its IPO in 2014. During EQT's tenure, ISS sold French landscaping division ISS Espaces Verts to Chequers Capital in January 2014 and ISS Damage Control to Agilitas Partners in June 2013.
