
Inventure sells Beddit to Apple
Nordic early-stage VC firm Inventure has sold its stake in Finnish sleep monitoring sensor manufacturer Beddit to tech giant Apple.
No details of the transaction have been released except for an update to Beddit's privacy policy informing users that their data is now collected, used and disclosed in accordance with Apple's privacy policy due to the acquisition.
unquote" sister publication Mergermarket reported in December 2015 that Beddit was seeking to raise €10m through a series-A funding round. At this stage, Inventure and state-owned Finnvera both held 20% of the company with the founders and various private investors holding the remaining 60%.
Previous funding
Inventure led a funding round for Beddit in September 2014. The company had previously raised funds through crowdfunding platform Indiegogo. Total investments after the round totalled €8m.
Company
Founded in Espoo in 2006, Beddit makes an ultra-thin sensor that lies under bedsheets and monitors movement, heart rate and respiratory rate during sleep. It relays this data via Bluetooth to smartphones for analysis. The company also has offices in Silicon Valley.
