
Capidea holds first close for Capidea Kapital III
Danish private equity house Capidea Management has announced a first close for its Capidea Kapital III fund on DKK 750m.
Capidea intends to target the small-cap buyout market in Denmark.
A final close with a target size of DKK 1bn (c€134m) is anticipated in early 2019, the GP said.
Capidea’s four partners, Erik Balleby Jensen, Jens Thøger Hansen, Nicolai Jungersen and Martin Jørgensen, will manage the fund.
Elm Capital is acting as placement agent for the fund.
Capidea held a final close for its Kapital II fund on €97m in March 2012. Investors in the fund included Argentum, Dansk Vækstkapital, Nordea Bank, Nordea Liv & Pension, VKR Holding, Jyske Holding, Hanssen Invest.
The PE firm’s first fund, Cap KK Invest, closed on €100m in November 2006.

A group of new and existing Danish and international investors has committed to the fund.

The GP intends to invest in competitive small and medium-sized companies operating in Denmark. A positive market environment for small-cap buyouts in Denmark, in addition to accelerating growth and a stable economic outlook, offer opportunity in that segment of the market, according to Capidea.
