EQ launches new secondary fund
Finnish private equity house EQ has launched its second PE secondaries fund, EQ PE SF II, and has already held a first close on €65m.
Simultaneously to the secondaries fund launch, EQ also held a first close for its latest fund-of-funds, EQ PE X North.
The fund-of-funds' entire secondaries allocation will be invested through EQ PE SF II and it is also committing €32m to the first close of EQ PE SF II. The fundraising and investment periods will be the same for both funds.
Fundraising will continue during Q2 and a final close is planned in June 2018. The target size for the secondary fund is €100m, with room for additional capital.
The investor base consists of 10 existing LPs, which wholly overlap with the LP base in the EQ PE X North fund.
EQ PE SF II will start its investment programme with the acquisition of seven fully invested private equity funds.
