Sponsor Capital acquires Duell Bike Center
Finnish private equity group Sponsor Capital has acquired Korsholm-based Duell Bike Center, an importer and distributor of motorsport parts.
Sponsor Capital will become the new majority owner of Duell, and the previous owners Tom Nylund, Stefan Nylund and Jarkko Ämmälä will continue as significant minority shareholders.
In addition, Dennis Nylund and Johan Drapkin will become new shareholders upon completion of the transaction.
The GP drew capital from its €200m Sponsor Capital IV fund to support the transaction. The vehicle closed on its hard-cap, exceeding a €175m target in 2014.
Duell's strategic goal is to strengthen relationships with both customers and suppliers in Finland, Sweden, Norway and the Baltic countries. It is also looking to expand in new markets.
